I’d like to start this weblog by paying tribute to Jim Rohn, America’s foremost business philosopher and one of the greatest minds of our time. Jim Rohn passed away on December 5, 2009.

The day I discovered Jim Rohn was one of the most defining moments of my life. His speeches and writings about success, personal development and achieving one’s full potential in life are outstanding and truly life-changing.

The following is one of my favorite quotes:

Success is something you attract by the person you become.

— Jim Rohn

Success is not something you pursue, he says, success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person. This could influence a lifetime of behavior.

His ideas and principles are simple yet very profound, and ridiculously easy to apply.

It’s not what happens that determines your life future. It’s what you do about it.

The same wind blows on us all. The difference in arrival is not in the blowing of the wind, but the setting of the sail.

Don’t wish it were easier, wish you were better.

For things to change, you have to change.

— Jim Rohn

I could write down entire speeches of him and you would find that almost everything he says is a powerful and motivating quote by itself; that’s the magic of Jim Rohn, he’s a gifted storyteller and memorable speaker.

Some of Jim Rohn’s best performances include Building Your Network Marketing Business and The Challenge To Succeed, which you can both find on iTunes and Amazon. I also recommend reading his book The Five Major Pieces To The Life Puzzle where he brings together most of his ideas about personal development.

Today I’ve decided to share the story of my first business venture—as it happens. I will recount my personal experiences, the things I’ve learned, the mistakes I’ve made and various thoughts about how I think one might become a successful entrepreneur.
